With 200ps to call upon from its four-cylinder, turbocharged, 2.0-litre FSI engine, the GTi is certainly not short of essential hot-hatch ingredients. Available with either the 6 speed manual gearbox or the superb DSG paddle shift option, the GTi is extremely flexible. The GTi delivers superb levels of traction and cornering grip, the standard 17’Δω alloy wheels along with the specially tuned steering rack and sports suspension sharpen the turns into corners, the GTi retains a degree of composure that few of its rivals can match.
Along with the rest of the Golf range, the GTi is not short on safety equipment. Front, side and curtain airbags, large-diameter disc brakes with ABS, and ESP are included; there are also active front head restraints to reduce the chances of whiplash injuries. And to keep your GTi secure an immobilizer, deadlocks, alarm and Remote Central Locking are all fitted as standard. The GTi theme continues inside, the fitting of driver and front passengers sports seats along with a sports three-spoke leather steering wheel, black headlining and aluminium pedal cluster complete the sporting theme, standard equipment includes electric windows, heated mirrors, CD/Radio as well as dual-zone climate control. On the outside a black honeycomb radiator grille with a deep chin spoiler are exclusive to the GTi as are the twin chrome exhaust pipes witch complete the sporting look.
